This is one of the paintings people ask me about, and very few understand its depth. My objective is never to create complex paintings that make it tough for the viewer to appreciate their depth. However, it is always fun to have paintings with multiple interpretations. This one is a classic example.
As an observer, you are looking from outside into a space that contains an in-progress work and, on the far wall, the inspiration of the painter. So, there is inspiration and there are tools to help you fulfill your aspirations. All you have to do is open the door and enter. It can be motivating for some and a reminder to reengage with their hobby for others.
You can have your own way of interpreting it, and that is the fun part. Let me know your interpretations!

The scene of a painting in progress is almost unnoticed or not thought about much. It says so much about artists and their creative process. For me this represents the sacred moment of human creative endeavour.
